RER in an '07

Ok I know there has been an exhaustive amount of info on putting the MyGiG in earlier then '08 LX's but I get different info everytime and don't know what exactly to get.

I have an '07 with Sirius already. I'm looking at getting a RER unit so what do I need in addition to the unit itself? Also I know I need a NAV bezel but if I get the bezel that normally fits the RER in the newer cars will it work with my '07 console so I don't need to modify it?

Well u need to get the lock pick from coastle tech. U can get the navi bezel, but there will be some gaps on the top and bottom. i did the same thing but i have the REN n tryin to find somewhere to fill in the gaps. U cant buy the 08 or 09 bezel because the clips on the newer 1s are in different spots then the older models. I heard that u can jus modify the bezel u have now n thats its easier than to buy the navi bezel. Also u need to get the navi antenna for the RER. Not sure bout usin sirius tho, sure some1 else can help wit that.

Ya I want to keep my Sirius capability but I don't care about the steering wheel controls (don't have them) or the rear DVD player or anything like that. My iPod I connect in the aux jack anyway which is what the RER has so I don't need that either.

If you are getting the MyGig RER (navigation), it will have the Sirius tuner built into it.

You will not be able to use your current tuner.

So will my Sirius work then?...I have a subscription so what happens with the tuner I have in the car already?...It's just going to sit there?...I'm so confused...Maybe it's best just to go aftermarket...I wanted the OEM look but all I see is dollar signs and how much all this is going to cost.

You can check with Sirius to see what it will cost to either transfer your subscription, or you can just pay a little extra to have that one added until your subscription runs out.

If you can purchase a MyGig from a 2009 Charger, you should have the free year on it, so that may help you out there and you will at least break even.

If that is the case, just leave everything as is, or see if they can put your account on hold until your free year runs out.
