Hey Guys,
I'm thinking of getting a Cold Air Intake for my 06 R/T Daytona. Just wondering whether there is a difference between Mopar or K&N.
Any ideas where the best place to buy them is? I'm out in Ajax and have access to several dodge dealerships, Cdn Tire, Performance improvements, etc.
I've been toying with the idea of buying one off ebay, but they look like they are homemade and I'm not sure if it would be a waste of money.
Thanks for the input.

Scott..There is no one answer for your question...the most popular CAI on this forum is the Mopar (I have one on my car and it is my favorate mod so far). Check with your Dodge dealers for prices and the Mopar Super Center in the vendors section of this forum. The Mopar costs more than the K&N and most of the other brands.

Hey Scott,
I would contact Adam, I have had several dealing with him, and his crew are great.

I sent Adam an email asking for price and availability, so we'll see what he says!
Thanks again for the info

The CAIs are for the most part the same. A tube with an air filter. Its a matter of preference.

If you are gonig for looks you will want the Mopar IMHO if you are looking for performance you will not get any they are not ture cold air inductions you will get a better tone to the car but thats about it.

Does it really change the sound of the car? If so, is it really noticeable? What does it sound like, a deeper more throaty tone?

Hey Scary if what you say is true how come the manufacturers claim anywhere from 12 to 25 hp. increase? I know alot of stuff is commercialization but they have to back up those claims somehow. Teflon

According to LX forums they don't help... However there are some members that claim to have gains proven on the dyno on their R&T ...

I wouldn't say deeper throatier, I'd just say more Intake whoompf. When you get on the throttle the car just comes alive. I remember the night I put on my MoparCAI, even my wife smiled when i WHOMPED on it. Really is an easy mod that looks good. Might net you 1.5hp...don't believe the hype, just feels like the car is breathing easier. Not sure I put that right, but anyone else that has done this will likely agree.

Anyone have the MOPAR part number handy for the CAI?
Before I get yelled at I did do the search and although everyone talks about it, there is no part number listed that I can find. MOPAR parts online lists for the Magnum and 300C but nothing for the Charger. I suspect it is the same but just looking to validate that.

I've read that hemi uses a speed density systemo measure air into the engine rather than air mass and cold air packages can throw the system off. Has anybody had any problems? I just ordered my Mopar system.
