i know change is tough but the competition will get stronger. besides my boy mickey is going to toyota in the blue napa monster......he might win with toyota's money behind him. he isn't doing so well this year without the big financial powerhouse behind him.

Remind me again, where was your Charger made? And where are most, if not all, the Toyotas sold in the US made? :D

Ummm, where do their funding dollars come from? A mix of foriegn dollars and American greed will certainly help line the pockets of NASCAR's executives but will it benefit the sport? Should they let any auto make into the mix as long as they have big money? Where do they draw the line? Why don't they just sell out completely to the Japs so us American's can watch Sukiyaki Cup racing.

Sorry, dude. I guess it was a bit too early for my sarcasm and humor. I'll try reposting later. :D

(P.S. That was meant to be sarcastic and humorous as well :D )

That's the perfect guy to be driving for Toyota... They'll never get a win :)

I think Toyota will be an OK addition. I've had this conversation way to many times already.

RIP Paul Dana.

Yep - I can't believe there was not two fatalities in that crash. Not sure why he didn't check his speed once the caution came out.

yeah, it doesn't make any sense....a friend heard on tv that he hit the brake like 1/2 second before he struck the other car. that isn't much time at 220 mph.

and you are right....it is just crazy that anyone survived that wreck.

We all need to rememeber something....Toyota is bigger on the GLOBAL MARKET than any of the Big Three which, = more $$$. They will dump so much money into the sport to win, that NASCAR's hopes of keeping costs down will go by the wayside. In turn, it will be harder for new teams (with smaller budgets) to start up with an American brand. Toyota has accomplished this in other motorsports series. I would bet a years worth of my wonderfull Air Force paycheck (I know, I know, its not much), that all the bigwigs in NASCAR have had their pockets lined with Toyota money. Mark my word, there will be a day when NASCAR will split up and another series will be started (see IRL and CART). Hopefully Bruton Smith and Humpy Wheeler are still around, I'd like to see them as founders of the new series!!! They still know what NASCAR racing is.

Hey, considering how many people in my state (Indiana) Toyota employs, while continuing to dump MORE money into the state (now they are going to start building Camry's here)....while at the SAME TIME, GM and Chrysler cut Indiana jobs, you'll never see me saying a bad thing about Toyota wanting to run NASCAR.....I welcome it.

Run?? Questionable.
Compete - Maybe in a few years.

Let us not get ahead of ourselves.

By "run" I meant compete....around here, we say that the car "run" Nascar, not "run" as in "control".
