Well I am looking to buy a new stereo and the whole bang. Well I get to the store and they said for a 2009 Dodge charger SXT I needed a $200 cord since the radio is connected to the "brain of the car".
Is it true that I need a $200 cord? I think it was callled a High/low cord or something like that.
Thankss

I'm not going to say for sure because mine is a 2008, but when i switched mine, the only "recommended" accessory for mine was the the harness so you don't have to splice into your accessory power cable, but i didn't bother buying it and mine works just fine. Like I said though, they may have changed something in 2009, but i would doubt it

Thanks for the opinion. I never heard of this so just looking for some advice. I am going to call the dealership tomorrow and verify ;)

If you want to connect the radio to the CanBus you need a PAC adapter, and if you want to maintain steering wheel controls (if you have them) you need a second adapter from Pac.

You wont need the 200 dollar wire harness. You can just go with the normal wire harness and tap into an acc ( cig lighter has worked for me) The 08 and 09 wire harnesses are different from previous models so dont let them sell you an 07 harness or else you will just have to make a trip back to the stereo shop. The 08 09 harness has little notches on the top while the other ones are square. Hope that helps you out
