View Full Version : Adding Sirius Sat. Radio to my Rec Navigation unit?

hey guys, just recently purchased a Rec navigation unit for my 2006 dodge charger... the unit came out of a 2006 dodge charger as well..my car came with a single disc basic cd player radio... i want to add the satellite feature but when i called dodge to get the kit they gave me the run around... so im wondering what all do i need to make this happen? i know i need a reciever and antenna but dodge is saying i will need a special wireing kit as well because my car didnt come from factory with the radio? idk please help

you are going to need the installation kit as well. since yours didnt come from the factory with it, the connectors more then likely wont be there.

i had bought the install kit new, but the receiver i have is used and is dead (it lists channels and songs but no sound). and being that my local dealer is out of business as of yesterday, they couldnt get a new receiver, so i am SOL. (they were going to replace it under warranty)

i can make you a deal on the slightly used install kit.

It would be easier and probably cheaper to just get a radio from Sirius, like the INV2 for $39, and get the Sirius car kit or a Scocshe box, and just tune the car's FM radio to 88.1 and do it that way. You would also need 2 Metra antenna coax adapters to go from the Chrysler plug to the motorola style plug in the car kits adapter.
