i just bought some new equipment. i have 2 12 inch ground pounders and a cadence z amp but the amp keeps overheating after a few mins and turns itself off. Are there any other options besides having to get a new amp??

Get more air to your amp, I fold down my seats in the rear. Or you can lower the volume and look for a fan.

are you sure your amp is overheating or is it going into protection? with that small of a wire, it could be causing your amp to go into protection if it's trying to pull more than your wire can give it. Try upgrading to at least 4 gauge and see if that helps. If it is still kicking out, you probably have a heat issue, but if it's kicking out after only a few minutes, i doubt it's heat related.

Low voltage is most likely the cause i would def upgrade your wire first see how that works for ya

you have to go with 4 gauge wire and as big a ground wire as possible and as short as possible to bare metal. ELECTRONICS use the ground wire as a cooling path and if your using too small of a ground wire or if its not grounded to a good spot and to bare metal than it will either over heat or shut down from being over worked.
