I know back in the day you didn't need a remote, that had poppers located in various places on the car to open the doors.

I have shaven doors on my 67 cutlass supreme. I use a remote to open the doors. Its nice when you go to open the passenger side door for a lady and hit the remote and the door magically opens. It gets the girls everytime.

If you have an aftermarket alarm then you wouldnt need to purchase the remote system. :bigthumb:

Here is a kit that I recommend for your car:

(2) 50lb Solenoids *For Front Doors
(2) 35lb Solenoids *For Rear Doors
(1) 8 channel Remote System

Special Fourm Price $395

Wow, so if I get the doors shaved by a body shop and all that is out of the way
400 bucks in hardware gives me poppers to open them from the outside?
is there not more hardware involved? cables connectors and such

Going to call tomorrow and get an estimate for the shave, need the holes in my bumper fixed anyway

I would install the kit first before dropping it off at the body shop. If you do not plan on installing yourself I would recommend taking it to a shop that has installed door poppers before. If you have basic knowledge of wiring you should be able to install the kit yourself to save a few bucks.

The kit I quoted you on will allow you to pop open all 4 doors via remote. You will also have 4 extra channels left to hook up other accessories. Trunk,L.E.D. lights, Air Suspension..etc.

Each motor will come with the required cables and mounting hardware. You will need to purchase wire to run from the remote system brain to the door solenoid.

No.

With your forum discount your looking at $178 for (2) 50lb Solenoids. You can use the 35lb solenoids as well. 2 of those would run you $135.
