I need your help with this statement.

I have tried to reconcile this statement from the 2009 Dodge Challenger brochure on page 5 where it talks about the 6.1 Hemi engine and where they say "....the upgraded titanium components signals where HEMI is going!"

I have been researching this to determine what if any changes were made for the 09 Charger 6.1 with titanium. As I blend oils for these engines, I would like to know what has changed. It isn't that the regular formulas that we design for the 6.1 will not work effectively, it is just that we always want to know any changes. This seems to be an elusive one.

Does anyone out there know what they are referring to or is this another statement made to the marketing dept that wasn't carried out.

Probably spring retainers......lighten up the valvetrain.

I was thinking the same thing. I heard they changed the valve springs, and it would make sense that it might just be in the retainers.

that would be my guess too seeing as how almost all the ported heads out there offer those as a feature or an option

I was just curious if there was official word given

Hopefully they did work to the 6.1 head to make it flow better.My 09' 5.7 heads ported blow away the current 6.1 heads ported.

I am believing the spring retainers as well. Didn't get an official answer though.

really what else could it be? They arent gonna dump that kinda money in any thing else. The retainers probably now have 10% titanium which is all they need to market it at such :grin:

You are right. It is for marketing purposes, not like they put titanium rods or rod bolts etc.
