Finally got my Stebel 134dB Truck Air Horn installed today. :D

Thanks to my buddy Ivan (LXF Member: Zoban) for the clean and professional looking install.

This thing is killer loud. I love it. :bigthumb:

All the househags better keep their mini-vans in their lane now, or they will be deafened.

I'll send you a PM. Got it from a guy that sells them on E-Bay, but I just bought them direct from him, not through E-Bay. I got two for $43 each. One for Ivan, one for me. He got a pressie for doing the install; a case of beer and a free horn. That's how I roll. :)

Yes, it's wired off the factory horn. When you lock the car, only the factory horn goes off, but when you hit the steering wheel pad they both go off, although the factory horn is more than drowned out by the air horn. LOL.

If you need install info, PM Zoban on LXF, because he did all the work. All I did was stand around and drink beer and observe.

If you guys hooked up straight to horn circuit did you use a seperate relay so as to not jack up the fcm like everyone else is doing??

In my first car (when I was 17 :)), I had installed a loud ship horn and had an extra switch that I could toggle ... the loud horn was wired into the factory horn button on the wheel, and the extra toggle switch allowed me to turn it on and off while holding down the regular button ... almost sounded like a siren .... :lol:


These days I'd do the extra switch just to disable the loud horn when not wanted or needed ;)

I didn't do the install. I mean, I was physically present, but I basically stood around drinking beer with a confused look on my face.

Zoban said when you use the panic button the air horn goes off as well.
So I would assume an unauthorized entry like smashing the glass and opening the door is gonna set the air horn in action too.

maybe you can help me..i have a stebel nautilus 139dB and it was awesome for like 5 months, but all of a sudden we got hit with the rainy season here in South Florida and the horn got wet...i disconnected it a few days ago and i saw that moisture was coming out of the horn part...i havent tried it again since then but will it go back to normal since its fully dried or is it done?

I had a buddy who was working maintenance for Amtrak.. He got me the horns (for my truck), I just had to buy the tank/compressor and relay(s). It could be used via remote control (boy was THAT fun), with the factory horn or JUST the factory horn (for those "no officer that wasn't me" moments). But let me tell you I don't think I've EVER had more fun than I did with those horns. Two years of road-rage free driving, to say the least!!

Here's a quick video I took one Sunday morning.. The horns were mounted underneath on the passenger's (inside) frame rail. The tank/compressor were mounted where the spare once was.. All out of site. I miss that and want to do something similar on this car..
