OK...i did some work to my car...just a lil bit...but Im moving out the 31st...and need a couple pieces of furniture...but other than that i am goin to have a couple Gs...that i am not goin to have anything to do with...so what would be a good mod...here is a couple of mods i was thinking

RK bumber..
KW suspension
srt-8..but i dont have to get that right away
a lil bit of exhaust mods
RIMS...dont have to get right away either...not alot of rims that I like that fit the charger, or the ones i do like dont fit them
I do know that i want more sound...better sound
LEDs in the taillights
Angel Eyes would be good when they come out

Justin...

SRT bumper !! I got mine for seven hundred something and the vents on the inside of the fog lights cool the front brakes!! Then get a K/N drop in filter and a JBA catback ...O/K dont get JBA get Corsa...

so would it be stupid for me to get a 1,600 suspension mod...from Kw...it would look good lowered or should i just do it the cheaper way...just some lowering springs...but i have heard bad reports from those...people are gettin rid of them...

ANd why JBA exhaust...someone on this forum but Borla and got 16 hp gain, and 22 pds...torque gain...its crazy

I wouldn't say the suspension mod is stupid , but rather premature. The suspension mod works best with other componets that compliment it like larger sway bars and bigger / wider tires . Then you could really take advantage of the performance the coilovers have to offer. Lowering the cheaper way is probably not a good idea , because the ride will suffer. I would say to keep the suspension stock for now because it is a Daytona.
Get some 20"s before the coilovers...The JBA catback is all stainless which don't rust, and they advertise "no drone" which is another positive ,then the price $489.oo is awesome for a cat-back system. They sound good too.... The borla catback dyno thread also included the volant CAI which probably helped the numbers on the dyno.
I would say keep your intake because it's a Daytona which is larger 3.5" than most CAI's 3.0 " . Then get a drop in K/N filter which gives you more sound and a little better flow.

Don't get the JBA's they have alot of drone. I just put them on this morning and now I'm left wondering what I'll replace them with. Probably a 3 chamber flowmaster or magnaflows. Let me say again that the JBA's have alot of drone...don't buy them.

They advertise "no drone" wtf ?/? Check into getting your money back if your not happy ...Oh well Jweezy sorry for the bad info.. So far the only catback with no drone is Zoomers and Corsa.. but they're like a grand ...Corsa sound awesome check them out...

Zoomers Jweezy! No drone at all, but... a little on the $$$ side. To me, with the sound, well worth it.

Hey SRick, I know you put headers on the R/T and you said something about the drone partially going away is that true?

slickrick
03-18-2006, 06:24 PM
The only problem with Zoomers is they dont come with an X-pipe and you have to cut yours and then weld the Zoomers to it... For that much money it should be a bolt on system..Like Corsa..JMO

That's one of the reasons I didn't get Zoomers.

Hey SRick, I know you put headers on the R/T and you said something about the drone partially going away is that true?

Yes , i was very unhappy with the Bassani Catback and i was considering a replacement as you are , and then i figured the headers would help because the Bassani sounded good after the rpms were up . The headers help speed up the exhaust flow and smooth it out tremendously. The drone is almost enjoyable now. Very smooth and the lower rpms are not as baffeled sounding. The JBA headers made the difference , but the mopar lt's have come out since my header purchase and they seem like a better choice. The mopar headers also come with high flow cats which will help with the sound and flow...I would consider headers before replacing your catback

Thanks Rick for your reply....looks like I'll be getting some headers soon.

The Corsa look and sound awesome!! Thats what i'll be getting for my SRT..Zoomers i would never get because it's incomplete = no x-pipe. Here's a pic of the corsa...They look great and you can check out the sound clips at corsa .com

slickrick
03-18-2006, 07:04 PM
Jweezy , get the corsa exhaust or Zoomers , and a K/N drop in filter . Then spend the rest on the exterior mods. The Rk sport bumper is probably not a good idea because it's fiberglass...The SRT bumper is better quality. And it has functional vents that cool the brakes..

The SRT bumper from my dealer cost is $746.00 then the sheild/vent piece is $86.00. You will have to have it painted though..
I could probably get him to give you the same deal..

After the break in period they should open up some and the tips you could get some different ones welded on..Too loud and you run the risk of hating it on a daily driver. The Corsa seem like they open up when you step on it , but they purr when your just creepin!!

jweezy tough decision....the rim situation - i would sit back and wait. a year can do alot. the aftermarket is really starting to take off for the charger so i think if you give it some time you will find wheels you love.

as far as which one to do.....tough decision man. if you like the look then move toward performance. have you done the cai. that would be my first mod for you. it really sounds nice up front after you do it. i would go mopar if i were you but kn makes a quality setup as well. shop around on here and see what others have done and then you can get a better idea of which direction to go and not go.......

enjoy spending money - it is one of my favorite things to do.

For that much money it should be a bolt on system..Like Corsa..JMO Even though you have to cut the stock system our connector pipe still bolt on from that point back. I wasn't knocking the Zoomers because they sound great . IMO They should come with an x-pipe . That keeps alot of us from getting the Zoomers.

I would go with either a MOPAR CAI or I like the look of the Volant intake, The MOPAR adds a nice growl to the engine compartment, the Volant is quieter and has a more upscale look...b.t.w. I noticed in another thread you're thinking about the srt-8 intake...save your money for awhile...a source I have has told me to look out for a MOPAR performace engine package... it will come with a revised intake( designed for the 5.7) a cam and upgraded PCM... look for it late summer( possibly to debut at the SRT nats.)...
