I am also working on a "rod run" on saturday, May 6th starting in boulder and driving up through Lyons to Estes Park, having a Picnic, then going east through Big Thompson Canyon to Longmont... there we would invade the Sonic on Main St.( they always have a Car gathering) do a little crusing before heading home...then showing up to Mopars on the Mountain on Sat. sounds like fun huh?!?

OK, I am gonna plan on being there. PM me with any details about a get together prior to the show for breakfast or whatever, or if there is going to be a charger run to Bandimere from wherever, and I will try to make that too.
I posted a challenge in the colorado owners sign in please! topic to have a meet and greet either in Colorado Springs or Denver sometime very soon. It would be great if we could all meet prior to Bandimere so we could know each other and meet up there too.
Come on guys! Let's make this happen!

Is anyone willing to pay the $30 for the show. I was thinking that we could give them a call and set aside some spaces at the show for all the Chargers and other LX cars that may be showing up with us.
What do you guys (and girls if applicable) think?

I'm up for both the Mopar day at Bandi and the cruise. I've also been watching the LXforum, and it looks like they are also trying to get a gathering together, although nothings been formalized yet.

Oh, I am definately going and will enter the show if enough of us can get together and get some slots next to each other. It will be nice if we can line up all the new Chargers in the same row or grouped together.
Let's do this and do it right!

I called there a month or two ago and wanted to ask about this same idea. All I got through to was voice mail and no one called back. Could be that Jan/Feb was too early and the guy in charge of the event didn't want to talk about it until closer to the show date. His name is Jerry.
They usually group the cars together by body type. The E-bodies are in several row together; the A-Bodies; B-bodies, and so on. Also, on the south end of the show area (south of the concession stand), they usually have an area for miscellaneous cars/trucks. Then the AMC stuff further south yet. The Tuners (Neons and whatnot) were on the east side of the staging lanes last year. Up on the north end of the concession stand is normally set aside for race cars and miscellaneous post-1974 vehicles. This is where you find the Vipers and Prowlers. Also many pickup trucks too (yes, people race them too  ). They also had the E-bodies there last year too. More cars than normal last year I think since the Challenger/Cuda show cars were on the north side.
I'm betting we will be on the north end in a row alongside the Vipers.

Great! I need folks to PM me so I can get a general idea on the amount of vehicles that will be joining us on the run...I will post on LX forums and see what happens there...I have a Contact at Bandemere, let me see what I can come up with...

Damn, and double damn. Thats the weekend my mother-in-law comes to town and the family is taking her for a getaway to Este Park Friday evening (5/5). Heck if you guys are swinging by on Saturday, I might see if I can fenagle a way to connect up with the train heading out of EP. I'm not holding my breath though. :( Anyways, I was looking forward to the Mopar on the Mountain, but did not know it was the same weekend as our mini-trip. That one I'll have to pass on and try again next year. Hope to see you all this Saturday.

Hi all. I live just a few miles from Bandimere. I have never been but I’m planning to go and watch “Mopar at Thunder Mountain“. Are you guys thinking about 'Showing' your cars, for the extra $30? I have a stock R/T. Are they showing regular cars?
Also, is anyone thinking about the "Street Eliminator"?

Show AND Go....yes!! These cars are mean't to do something other than just sit around lookin' good. For the thirty bucks, you get to show and race if you'd like. Guaranteed three runs on the track...2 time trails and one elimination round. If you continue to win, you could run half a dozen or more. Just depends on how many times you win before being eliminated.
I've been to this event every year since 2002. They divide the "pit" area west of the track into three sections usually. The extreme south of the asphalt is the swap meet..not very big though. The next section of cars up to the concession stand is usually reserved for the vintage vehicles, divided up into rows according to body type; A-body, E-body, B-body, miscellaneous, ect. North of the concession stand is a row of Vipers and Prowlers. North of that row is everyone else in no particular order. This last bunch of vehicles range from pickups and minivans to all out race cars. Also right next to the concession stand on the north and south sides are usually a few vendor booths. Last year the E-bodies were between the concession stand and the Viper row on the north side....I think they had more cars last year and had to rearrange a little. The AMC guys are between the vintage mopars and the swap meet on the south side. Last year, over on the east side of the staging lanes, they had the tuners set up (Neons, ect). I expect the LX cars will be on one side or the other of the Viper row.
In any case, the show opens up to the general public by about 8:30 am. So if your going to enter your car, you should get there earlier than that and get it parked. The schedule says time trials at 11:00, but there are cars racing by 9:30 or so (setting their dial-in time), so depending on which class goes first, you need to be there to get in line. Also, racers need to go through a tech inspection (no oil leaks, ect) first. Must have seat belts, good tires, good brakes, ect. Helmets are required for cars running 13.99 seconds or faster. At this altitude, the SRT8's might not break that time, so helmets might not be an issue. I'm going to bring one anyway, just in case my car surprises me.
It is an outstanding event. Loud, smoky, and obnoxious. The order of the day is pure, unadulterated horsepower. I haven't been to the Super Chevy Weekend they put on in August, but I have been to the Phil Long All Ford day in June or July....let me tell ya, that one is a ***** day compared to Mopar at Thunder Mountain!!!! The vintage Fords, for the most part, sit on the tarmac all day....their owners afraid to break something. Not so with Mopar. The old stuff is out there haulin' azz and kickin' azz too.
Run what ya brung....it's all good. I'll have mine there even if I have to trailer it down. (Too many bills this spring...can't afford that $800+ registration fee. :embarrese Dagnabit!)

I'm seriously considering going....especially after that write up from 340 CM and ronaldrwl - I'm completely stock as well!! So don't worry about it! We'll all just hang out look at some great cars, see some speed demons and have a great time!!!
Wasn't someone working to see if we could all park together?? Any word on that?

Serendipity strikes!
Well, I am doing the little run to Lakewood and Red Rocks this Sunday and looking forward to that!
Also am definately going to Bandimere.
But check this out!
Just found out that I will be TDY to Scottsdale 1 - 5 May! I was planning on going down there for the Scottsdale Pavilion meet and greet on 29 April just for fun, but now I get paid to stay down there the rest of the week and get gas money for driving there and back, per-diem for lodging and food, and miscellaneous expenses.
The MOPAR God's are watching out for me big time. This means I do the Lake Wood run this week, Scottsdale on 29 April, and Bandimere on 7 May, the day after I get back from Scottsdale! SHWEEEEET!

Sorry bud, but Ole' Uncle Sam is mighty particular about stow-aways! I usually don't make any money on these trips, just enough to cover the bare expenses. The Govment' aint as generous with the greenbacks as it used to be.
Looking forward to meeting you all too. Give me some directions coming from I-25 N to Hampden Rd. where you all want to meet up Sunday and what time?

Hampden is exit 201(i think) off I-25. Its just after the 225 exit. As far as the plaza chargershed was talking about---I'm not sure which one. Hopefully he will pop in here and say. Just in case, I'll double check in here tomorrow.
We are meeting at 12:00 or 12:15, So i would say that we could meet with you between 12:30 and 1. Does that work??
