View Full Version : Frustration at Stock BA Amp and Speakers

I am trying to hook up a nice set of Diamond Audio Component speakers to the fronts. I hooked up my crossover and I have woofer sounds, no highs really and the tweets doesn't produce sound.
Does the stock BA system already cross the Highs to go to the in-Dash speakers and do something to the doors? I spent 3 hours fabricating the speaker mount and hooking it up and wasted my day, I put the stock BA speaker back in.
:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused: :confused:

door speakers get a ton of low frequency. If you didn't properly match ohm rating, you may have prevented the speakers from working correctly. the 368w amp does a much better job, but requires a powered sub. Others have said the kicker speaker upgrade does a great job.

I have an off-board amp on my HU to a Kenwood KCX-541 amp driving the back deck and the 12" Infinity Reference Sub, now I want to use the stock BA amp to drive my Diamond Components up front. they come with their own crossover network to separate the highs for the nice Aluminum tweets I have. Do I have to put yet another off-board amp to drive the fronts and how much of a pain is it to separate the fronts and the dash speakers?

Old post but I'm the electronics nerd... The dash speakers are the same as a tweeter and they do already have a crossover so you can use your components, but the mid in the door and tweeter in the dash. Hope I'm not too late.

I just did my setup in my R/T. One thing I can tell you for sure is if you want to upgrade the speakers in the Charger then upgrade everything. You can either run it of your head unit or you can run it off of an amp, but not the stock one in the Charger. I took that silly thing out completely. Just remember that your ABS Electronics Module is connected to the rear of it and need to be taken off.
