As some of you know, I was on a plane Thursday and Friday going to Gainesville Florida then back to Cleveland.

The reason was my industrial company American Clean Energy Systems (ACES) sponsored the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame Inductee Event there in Gainesville.

Six greats from drag racing were inducted in the hall of fame Thursday night.

Since I was the head sponsor, I got to put on a suit and present rings and trophies to the 6 inductees, unfortunately one was postumously.

They were:

Steve Carbone

Ed Garlits

Marvin Graham

Hayden Proffitt

Fritz Voigt

and Sid Waterman.

All innovators in the world of motorsports. It was great to see Don Garlits and his family again and have dinner with them.

I snapped a few shots and thought I would share since most of you like drag racing. These people are the real legends from the sport.

Some more pictures. I really liked the 427 Ford "Cammer" motor. 6 ft timing chain. Single overhead cam V8 from the 60's Most people don't even know what they are.

The sparkplugs are on the top of the valve cover! This was Fords 427 Hemi SOHC car engine they put in the galaxies and the comets.

Also the trophies and rings were kool! Garlits for many years was supported by Mopar but this year they had to drop out. Don called me and asked can you help us? Since we have had a relationship for a long time, I said yes.

Pretty kool to take the place of Mopar if only for one night.

Yes, he did....although it was in nitromethane not gasoline. That is why we have a relationship.

When something like this comes up again, I will keep you in mind. These come up as necessary and since we are known professionally, it happens more and more these days.

We are just now getting known from a retail point of view. So far, many people have taken up the challenge and have been very happy with their results.

Speaking of running our products, the Ford Cammer 427 SOHC is a really noisy motor, and our oils make a really big difference in them. Unfortuntely, not too many left in existance.
