Forum Upgrade In Progress

Im in the process of upgrading to the latest version of Vbulletin. If you find some things broken, I'm working to take care of them now.

Please post any remaining problems in this thread.

Problems I know about:

Photo gallery is broken
Link on Active Topics page does not work

Most pages appear to have some type of Javascript error on them. Unfortunately running IE so I don't have an exact error to report (I know that Firefox and Netscape have a Java debug console you can launch to find the exact line of the error).

Also, quick reply seems to be missing. Is this no longer a feature, or has it just not been turned on yet?

Am I the only one having trouble with the new post edit window (advanced edit)? Especially when I use backspace or delete... the window does not refresh properly, or sometimes it does refresh after a pause (not the pause that refreshes! :tongue: ) I also see little blue squiggles in the window from time to time; look like a small right square bracket ( ] ). No, I'm NOT on any psychedelic drugs! :)


I am, however, using IE7 beta (7.0.5296.0). I did NOT have these problems before the change last night.

i started a new thread and it didnt show up on the main page in the recent threads, I posted on the famous "don't delete this post" and it doesnt show up on the main page either. I can't click on the smilies either

I am, however, using IE7 beta (7.0.5296.0). I did NOT have these problems before the change last night. I quote replied to a message, but the "quote" was all garbled up (showing the code instead of the message the way it should look). Makes it real hard to read. I couldn't edit the quote very well. I tried selecting only the text I wanted and used the "quote" button, but it did not do anything at all - the quote button is broken. ----------- I entered a new message, but it ignored all ENTER keystrokes, so it's all packed together in one streams of sentences.

bold print doesn't seem to be working for me, I noticed that on the gen discussion page the page directory goes 1,2,3,11,>,last....:awkward: 1,2,3,11? are we using U2's math? ( 1,2,3,14...vertigo?)

The photo gallery is up. Bold appears to be working for you. Page numbers now show the pages near where you are, and the end of the thread so you can jump around quicker.

It is probably just me but I greatly prefer NEW POSTS to TODAY'S POSTS. I often miss a few days and that was the way I would catch up.

New posts is in the Navbar, so you can use Todays (under the quicklinks) or "New Posts" on the navbar. They are both there.

I think I have tracked down some of the problems some of you may be having with attachments and editor interface. I believe it is because your browser has cached some old files. Do a hard refresh.

On Firefox, you hold down shift and click the refresh button. On IE, I believe its a control-F5 to do a hard refresh.

Give that a try on the pages you are having a hard time on and see if it helps.

I found this in the IE7 beta release notes know issues list:

Form Edit-Text does not display on first entry or refresh on edit when user edits a form or a wsywyig editor window. The workaround is to press enter to cause the text to appear or refresh.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but if I had to guess I would say you are in the editor mode that shows the code items, not the WYSIWYG interface. You can switch back and forth and its an option under your user CP.

A screenshot would be helpful.

At the upper right corner of the editor "window" is a button that looks like this:

This toggles the display mode from what you're seeing back to "normal WYSIWYG mode...

I noticed that when you send a PM, there is no "read confirmation request" anymore. It doesn't ask if I'd like one or not, just sends the message.

Hey E-One....looks like no one ever answered you. To do a screen shot- hold the Ctrl button and and then press the Print Scrn button (usually top row- about 3 buttons from the right). After you've done that, hold Ctrl and press V to paste it where you want.

When I would type in -

www.chargerforums.com (http://www.chargerforums.com) into my adress bar on my web browser, it would go to the front page, then redirect on its own to www.chargerforums.com/profile.php (http://www.chargerforums.com/profile.html) and give me the error that the page is not found.

I had the problem early this morning, but its not doing it now... Also, it was happening on my home PC and my work PC, if that helps.

Same here did it just this morning, I go to my bookmark and it brings up the site for a second then goes to 404 and I have to click on the link provided, which appears to be the same link I use.

Wow, I'm extremely fluid with vbulletin and vbadvanced,and I can't think of anything otherthan a module for vbadvanced that would be causing this.

The thing that is puzzling to me, is that it's not happening to everyone. It's more than a few, so it's probably not the user.. hmm..

The forum really, really needs a format (fairly common w/ other performance car forums) where we post our drag race timeslips as jpegs, ET and mph, lists of mods, location and username. It can be searchable, a great source of information, and allows members to see what has actually been done to the car and the results.

Is this possible?

Go to the UserCP and go into Edit Options and check the setting under "Default Thread Subscription Mode"

Make sure it doesn't say "Do Not Subscribe"!

I can not add a picture when i start a new thread.
I am using IE7 with the popup blocker turned off, as well as the phishing alerts.
I realize IE7 is currently beta.

(I did add a picture to a new thread using an alternate pc with IE6 SP2, popup blocker turn on)
