If you havent yet seen this recent thread about twin screw superchargers, please check it out. The thread highlights many of the important areas that make a well designed system.

http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101163

As far as kits that are out right this very second; I would buy the Techco 3.0L supercharger.

The have a great design(large smooth air inlet, proper blower size 3.0 liters,).

As for systems that are coming our soon: I would go for the new Kenne Bell system. It will be awesome!!

We are Procharger, Vortech, Whipple and Kenne Bell dealer and have a HUGE amount of experience with those companies for many, many years,

Wow....I could write a book on this one...lol

We have a unique perspective on this as we are Distributors/Installers for Vortech, Techco, Procharger, STS Turbo and Whipple. So we have sold, driven, owned or installed most of the current options out there. I will start off by saying they are all good kits and all will make great power. It really depends what you want from your car...what look, what sound, what kind of power, do you want something plug and play or something you plan on getting custom tuned, what are your goals for your car? Street Car, Show Car, Strip Car, Road Course, or a combo of the above?

My Daily Driven SRT8 Charger has a Vortech Supercharger on it. We installed this last summer and at the time was the first Production Vortech Kit. We have a long history with Vortech and they make great products. I personally have always loved the sound and performance of the Centrifugal style of S/C which the Vortech is. I am still running the canned Vortech Tune that came with the kit. It makes plenty of power, and is drivable and very safe. This kit is truly a plug and play kit, you can install it and go, without needing custom tuning, and a 3 year 36k warranty is available if you go this route and have BMCP or another Top Tier installer do the work...which gives people piece of mind. Figure about 480 RWHP with 5-6 lbs of boost with this setup on a Stock SRT8...if you decide later to up the boost the sky is the limit. We just installed a higher boost pulley on a customers SRT8 and got 567 RWHP on an otherwise bone stock car.

Techco makes a Twin Screw top mount Supercharger. By far my favorite if you want this style. Looks factory, sounds great and is very torquey. We just installed the first 09 5.7L kit of on our Challenger 5.7L and got 467 RWHP, with 6 lbs of boost. This is a great option as well if you like the top mount style of blower.

The Procharger is simliar to the Vortech, in that it is also Centri style. It uses an Air to Air intercooler vs the Water to Air setup in the Vortech. Numbers will be similar, but the tune that coems with the kits is not great and you will need a custom tune. Still a good kit, but we tend to favor the Vortech kit over Procharger for the Hemi.

Whipple setup is new for the Hemi, so I don't have a ton of feedback yet. This is also a top mount like the Techco, but I think the Techco looks 1000x better.

Here is a link to our Supercharger section, let us know if we can help.

We have probably sold more Superchargers for the late model Hemi than anyone else, and can help you whichever direction you want to go. There is no "best" S/C...different strokes for different folks. We are enthusiasts just like you and have two Daily Driven S/C Hemi's here at the shop in additon to lots of customer installs. Check out our section in the Vendor Isle, we have lots of info on different builds we have done and other info on the various kits.

there are a few people that recently got the ProCharger here and are super happy with it. Those and the Vortechs are the most popular here.

The Vortech and Procharger systems are both Very nice, I agree 100%.

Everyone is different, we all have opinions- its hard to say which is "best". The Techco has instant throttle responce and boost down low(advantage) but the Vortech is much less exspensive (advantage) Its hard to weigh those against each other. Then throw in the looks of a particular unit. Some people love the look or sound of one kit, and dislike the other.

As for what makes the best power throughout the rpm range, and what can grow with you to make more boost: I think that can be narrowed down pertty quickly.

But the looks and cost of a unit adds many variables.--it becomes personal taste at that point.

Personally, I think the Techno has them all in looks hands down. Nice and clean and it mounts right on top. Super good looking kit. The others look like someone bolted a vacuum cleaner to the engine, compared to the Techno.

Being one of the First to install and Custom tune a Pro-Charger, Vortech, RDP and our own V6 kit I can say with each kit there is no "Best" supercharger out there. They all have their own unique feel. Persona preference is a huge Factor in deciding what system to go with. I personally Like the Vortech kits on Stock and Mildly modified cars, Pro-Chargers on Built bottom ends with Major mods, I can wait to have a SMS/Techo unit in the shop, and the Whipple will be at our shop in a few weeks to see what it can do.

As far as Most sold goes I cant claim that title But I can say I have 3 Pro-Charged cars over 670 RWHP and they are very street friendly.

I am partail to the Pro-Charger for now, but we will have final testing on the whipple completed within 2-4 weeks with dyno numbers and track results on a stock srt8.

i have the vortech kit on my srt8 and i love it. i was also one of the guys who got the first production kits out of the factory and i have to say it is nothing short of awesome. the look of the vortech has grown over me as at first i agreed with thumper but when i am at a show and pop the hood i get all kinds of reactions, one guy even asked me if it was real. i am totally happy with it and would recommend it to everyone. and yes i did pay for the system, nothing on my car was given to me.

I just got a Procharger installed in my 2006 R/T about a week ago and I am in love with it. Got some great gains and it feels like a totally different engine.

I have no experience with any other SC's out there. There are a lot of people on these forums that have though, so I'm sure you will get a lot of good advice, best of luck with your choice.

They all have their own unique feel. Persona preference is a huge Factor in deciding what system to go with.Have to agree with this statement. What works for one person does not work for all.On a race only motor I would prefer a positive displacement blower(Techco,Harrop,Whipple,or a nice fat ROOT's 8-71) but for something thats driven on the street I prefer a centrifugal(Paxton,Vortech,ProCharger)as they don't spool up as much boost just driving around town until you hammer it and put a load on the motor.I think the boost potential is much greater on the centrifugal as well.
I can say from personal experience that 12psi on a nicely modified 6.1 was a very nice driver for daily use.Part throttle driving was as calm as stock.....WOT....well....not for the faint of heart.

The first production unit is being installed as we speak with dyno numbers and track times to follow. Pre-production unit was making 480rwhp with a very very conservative tune. 500rwhp/500rwtq will be pretty easy with this base kit on 93 octane.

The Whipple is nice looking. It looks like a Ford Lightning supercharger. Is that the same ones used on the Ford Lightning?

Get me 4 1/2 pound bean burritos and a large coke and I'll show you what really gets things moving!

Amen brother! I had to buy my snit tooo. Nick, you got a sweet ride bro! It must be nice for sum of the members to have 10-20K in mods for free. This would never happen to me.

No. the lightning has an eaton blower from the factory, but allot of lightning owners switch to the whipple after the fact. All the Ford Racing blowers are manufactured by Whipple also.

Andy,

What's the price on those? Can they be installed by regular Joe's? I'm seriously liking the way that looks!!

PPP-Tech

Pricing is still be determined but will probably be in the $7495 range. It can be installed by the average Joe if he is mechanically inclined.

Im running a TR AWD with 91cai precitor tune what would be a good super charger for that? With it being a daily driver how would a superchager affect milage or handeling in snow?

Absolutely. The first kit is going on a stock challenger, the second one is going on a 426 challenger and the third one is going on a 426 cherokee.
