in a bit of a dilemma. I want 22's for the charger this spring, but want the 265/35/22 tire, some say go for it and most chargers I see around my area run this tire. why do local shops give me a hard time when I mention I want these? Its almost as they believe it won't work when I know for a fact it will. any suggestions? I'm getting this size tire anyways, just want some advice.

anyone? I just want to know how people get away with purchasing that size tire without arguing with the tire guy? do they pay them off, do a favor? what? lol.

You're right, a lot of guys run the 265/35-22s without any issues. As long as your wheel dimensions are correct, you to shouldn't have any problems. The 265/35-22 is a little taller in OD from what came on your car originally. This could be why the local shops are hesitant to sell you something bigger.

Sorry for the delay. I think the SRT8 Replicas is a great choice. Let me know if you have any further questions.
265/35/22 shouldnt be a issue.. i run them and they are cheaper than any other 22" tire as well...

for sure go with a 265/35/22 tire. Don't buy a 255/30/22 unless you are going to lower your car or bag it. You can bag with a 35 series too. Most tire places aren't too smart when it comes to recommending stuff, since they just tell you what the computer tells them unless they have actual experience with that setup on the particular vehicle. Good luck

I plan on getting the 265/35/22, even though tire guys cry like lil girls when I ask them or they have a moment. I intend to get what i want when I drop cash down on the counter for rims. infact I may go out tomorrow and find just rims for now and see what I can get for a reasonable price, and do tires in the spring. might be easier that way

well I talked to a local shop here and found a set of Boss 313 black rims for a good price and got a quote on a set of 265/35/22 tires. they said I will have to sign some waiver before they mount them on the car or whatever, but anyways I plan on ordering the rims only tomorrow.

What's the offset on that wheel? I can tell you exactly how your new assembly will fit in relation to your OEM set up.

from what I've seen on other sites, it looks like its a +14 offset, I did a search for these wheels on the forums here and other people have had them on there charger's or 300's so they are probably ok. but still I'll be fine on the 265/35/22?

yup i got the PM, thanks
i have boss 304's on a stock suspension with 265/35/22...no issues. they will look sick bro
stop worrying so much.. 265/35 is the way to go.. those sales guys just want you to buy the more pricey 22" tire... like i said, 265/35/22 is so common its the cheapest 22" tire on the market and that covers all brands as well..

chad, go to a different shop! dont throw money at ignorance.
BigDirtyD hit the nail on the head: "Most tire places aren't too smart when it comes to recommending stuff, since they just tell you what the computer tells them unless they have actual experience with that setup on the particular vehicle."
When it was time for me to upgrade to 22s, my local auto shop specifically recommended 265/35/22s for my rims. He had experience with similar setups on both Chargers and 300s. I have had no problems with rubbing, etc. and will buy the same size tires when I replace the old ones.
Good luck!

265's will work fine. It depends on the rim offset/width and if you are going to lower it, and how much. If you are on 9 inch wide and want it dropped, a 255/35 is a better choice. Here is a sneak peak of mine that I will reveal fully at spring fling. 255/35, slammed on kw 2s with rolled fenders --------> no rub.

thanks for the advice, I don't plan on lowering, had a lowered cavalier and I'm done with that idea, time to ride high I guess lol, I talked to a guy on here with a Red daytona with the same rims I'm getting and same tire size so if it works for him it works for me. thanks agian.
